Priority signs
Priority signs are usually placed on the right-hand side of the road. They may also be repeated above the carriageway or on the left.
Road signs
You must know the type and meaning of each road sign, understand who it applies to and which part of the carriageway it applies to. You do not, of course, need to know the sign number.
Priority sign B1
Give way.
Priority sign B3
Advance warning of road sign B1 at approximately the distance shown.
Priority sign B5
Stop and give way.

Priority road.

End of a priority road.

Narrow passage: you must give way to traffic coming from the opposite direction.

Narrow passage: you have priority over traffic coming from the opposite direction.
Priority sign B22
Cyclists and speed pedelec riders may pass a red or amber traffic light to turn right, provided they give way to other road users on the public road or carriageway.
Priority sign B23
Cyclists and speed pedelec riders may pass a red or amber traffic light to continue straight ahead, provided they give way to other road users on the public road or carriageway.
Supplementary signs: road users may approach from both directions
Some road signs may be combined with supplementary signs. The signs below warn you that road users may approach from both the left and the right.
